Created a new user but is showing as 'inactive'

Created a new user but is showing as 'inactive' - the user has a double-barrelled name, could this be the cause?  If not, how can we make this account active?

The valid statuses in a User Account are Active, Archived, and Suspended.

Are you referring to this - e.g. on a User's popup:

That's indicating that they are not actively using the system at present, not that the account is inactive.
