LifeOfJonny Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Hi, When you click "Login in with single sign on", the redirection to our SSO provider (Azure AD) happens then returns you back to the login page, on the second attempt to login with SSO, it works fine. Azure Redirect URIs;https://admin.hornbill.com/wcc/lib/saml/auth/simplesaml/module.php/samlEspProxy/sp/saml2-acs.php/samlhttps://customer.hornbill.com/wcc/lib/saml/auth/simplesaml/module.php/samlEspProxy/sp/saml2-acs.php/samlhttps://service.hornbill.com/wcc/lib/saml/auth/simplesaml/module.php/samlEspProxy/sp/saml2-acs.php/samlhttps://mcatalog.hornbill.com/wcc/lib/saml/auth/simplesaml/module.php/samlEspProxy/sp/saml2-acs.php/samlhttps://live.hornbill.com/wcc/lib/saml/auth/simplesaml/module.php/samlEspProxy/sp/saml2-acs.php/saml Have we misconfigured something?
Martyn Houghton Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 We are seeing a similar behaviour as well with Azure on our instance as well.

Just spoke to someone on our service desk, he told me that he had a user where they have to click it 3 times to login. Lets hope you guys can get to the bottom of this one.
Alberto M Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 This happens with me only if I do logout, then click on "Back to login" and then I have to click twice to login.
TrevorHarris Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Hi @LifeOfJonny, Can ask if you see this problem everytime you login and does the Azure ask for login credentials before sending you back to the hornbill login page or does it redirect straight back without loggin in the first time. Thanks Trevor H
LifeOfJonny Posted September 25, 2020 Author Posted September 25, 2020 In Azure the Enterprise App has content granted for all users, so users who are already logged in will have SSO happen at MS end and then automatically be sent back to Hornbill, without users needing to grant Hornbill for the SSO. When I get the issue next, I'll get a screenshot of the network tab in chrome developer tools.
LifeOfJonny Posted September 28, 2020 Author Posted September 28, 2020 @TrevorHarris Just went to login this morning and kept the Network tab of developer mode open. You can see I was redirected to Azure twice for authentication, so its not like the first time I click it the page just reloads.
TrevorHarris Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 @LifeOfJonny Thanks for the network log, I will investigate to see if I can find out what the problem is Trevor
HHH Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 We have several users and analysts that have reported the same thing.
nasimg Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I had this today, but seems ok now (on retrying). Also had reports from other analyst getting presented with the Log in button again after pressing it once - not having to enter any credentials but press it a second time (after which Hornbill opened as normal).
TrevorHarris Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Hi all, Have released an update to core UI which should help address this issue. Can you let me know if your still seeing this issue after today Thanks Trevor
LifeOfJonny Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Hi Trevor, I've had this isssue today, both with admin. and live.
Jeremy Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 this happened for us today, just as a side note we are not azure based for our SSO.
TrevorHarris Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Ok, thanks for the update, sorry you're still having the issue. We are currently looking into our saml implementation and improving the underlying technology that runs it- hopefully this will solve the problem you are having here and should be available soon. Thanks Trevor
Martyn Houghton Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 @TrevorHarris We also have an issue when attempting to log back in a session that timed out and disconnected by Hornbill, which has started occurring since the change a well. I will try get a screenshot of the issue. Cheers Martyn
John C Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 @TrevorHarris morning, had to to it three times this morning before I got in.....
Victor Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 @all We are aware of the issue occurring even if after the fixes we put in place. @TrevorHarris and his team are currently refactoring the SAML authentication code in HB. As part of this refactoring issues such as this one should be addressed. Unfortunately there won't be any fix in the current code but we aim to finish the new code as soon as possible. 1
LifeOfJonny Posted October 30, 2020 Author Posted October 30, 2020 Any update on this, cause it breaks links to requests in emails for the customers, when it happens, just takes them to the homepage instead of the request.
LifeOfJonny Posted November 25, 2020 Author Posted November 25, 2020 Any update on this? This is still happening and it breaks hyperlinks in emails taking you to the right place, if your not already logged in.
nasimg Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 I think it happens to most of us who are SSO and Azure. But I've also noticed for our customers who use SSO and ADFS. Hopefully Hornbill will have it fixed as it does cause questions to be raised... Nasim
