Against Custom Criteria - How to return request where category is blank

Hi

Before moving forward with our Service Manager I need to make sure 'categories' are completed on requests.

Is there a way to run a report where category name of id Against Custom Criteria is blank.  Not sure of the source code to place in the field.  Thinking is might be {null}

You are right - this would be set by filtering on Category Name value is Null. 
This can be performed using a different operator than "Value Equals" from the dropdown, as per the screenshot:
