Customer's line manager variable in email template

Can anyone advise how I can create a variable a customer's line manager's first name to use in an email?


I tried using Get User Details Node, Get Line Manager information Node, and then mapping to a custom field. Inserting custom field in Email template failed to achieve desired result. Any advice gratefully received.

@Jason sounds like you are on the right track, are you getting the line manager name into the custom field?  if after this is updated in your business process, are you using a Get Request Info Node, before your email node which is sending the email template?  Just making sure that the email template has the updated custom field value to work with.
