Jeremy Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 I have created a new BPM and when I try to raise a request it doesn't trigger the BPM and I am left with a request that is not assigned and doesn't do anything. I cannot get it to work and so wondered if anything had changed recently....This is the BPM with the No Match it should at least go in that direction...
James Ainsworth Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Hi Jeremy, Is there any more you can tell us about the issue? Is the Process Tracker being displayed at the top of the request? If you look at the server service logs when raising a request that uses this BPM, are there any error messages displayed? James
Jeremy Posted July 14, 2020 Author Posted July 14, 2020 @James Ainsworth there is no process tracker and no errors. it doesn't seem to pick up any BPM at all which is why it fails, I have also tried taking out the decision at the beginning thinking that this was an issue but still no joy
Jeremy Posted July 14, 2020 Author Posted July 14, 2020 This is the catalog settings: this is the resulting request
James Ainsworth Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 It looks to me like a BPM Instance hasn't been created. You can look to see if there is a BPM for this SR by looking in the Manage Executed Process You should be able to search by request ID. If nothing shows in the results, the BPM workflow will most likely not have been created.
Jeremy Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 @James Ainsworth nope there is nothing when you create a request
James Ainsworth Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 So, this being the case, it won't be an issue with the BPM itself. The next step would be to view the Serverservice logs while raising the request to see if you get any error messages.
Jeremy Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 @James Ainsworth I think that this is the resultingting log:
James Ainsworth Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Probably the first thing I would do in this case is make sure that the BPM hasn't been set to 'Deactivated'. I would then check to make sure that the * at the beginning of the BPM name is not causing an issue. I can't see it being an issue within the BPM itself. Try changing the BPM on the Catalog Item to one without a * and see if you get your HUD.
Jeremy Posted July 17, 2020 Author Posted July 17, 2020 So it seems to be an issue with this specific BPM, I have set up a new different BPM today with the * and that works no issues, we use the * to differentiate between forms (on portal) and non portal BPMs as we have so many. This specific BPM is showing as active and I have tried copying it and still this does not pick up the HUD etc, I have also completely recreated the BPM from scratch and this is still not working. The CI has also been recreated....
Jeremy Posted July 17, 2020 Author Posted July 17, 2020 So I have found the issue! For some reason the calculations where preventing the BPM from being activated for some reason, once this node was remove it worked!
James Ainsworth Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 Great news that you got to the bottom of it.
