Martyn Houghton Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 @AlexTumber There does not appear to be a default timesheet category for the 'Link Document' action in Service Manager, nor does it inherit from any other default. Therefore in order to record time you have to manually set a category. Cheers Martyn
AlexTumber Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 @Martyn Houghton thanks for your post. I'll have to check with the sm team. I'll come back to you. Alex 1
AlexTumber Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 @Martyn Houghton not every action on a request has the timesheet manager plugin. I'm just checking with the service manager team now what the status is regarding the link action. Alex
AlexTumber Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 @Martyn Houghton the link action is one of the actions where it has been decided that not enough time is spent in performing this action to warrant the ability to record time against it. Do you have a use case for us to add this functionality here? Alex
Martyn Houghton Posted June 30, 2020 Author Posted June 30, 2020 @AlexTumber I am somewhat confused. The SM team have provided the facility to record time against the Linking Documents in the tool, but now do not want us to or not let you set a default for the facility that is already present? In our case we are trying to make use of Link Documents to supplement the FAQ's as part of rebuilding the Knowledge base facilities lost when moving from Supportworks to Service Manager. As we will have a large volume of libraries and documents locating and linking the correct one could take a significant about of time. Cheers Martyn
James Ainsworth Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 Hi Martyn, Yes, I think some wires were crossed. I've asked the development team to have a look at including a default Timesheet Category for the Timesheet plug-in on the Linked Requests Action Item. Regards, James
James Ainsworth Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Hi Martyn, The default category for Link Document is now available as of the last Service Manager update build 2017 which will be applied during your next maintenance window. Regards, James
