Resource Capacity Report \ View

Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I couldn't think of the best place to put it.

In our organisation, the IT Support team is heavily involved in both BAU support like Incidents, Requests and Change etc... and also in business led project work.

If we owned both Service Manager and Project manager, do you offer the ability to see Resource Capacity based on work an analyst has assigned in both applications?

Hi Gareth,

Thanks for your post.

This may depend a little on how you plan to use the two apps.  Project Manager can work using standard Activities, in the same way that you might do in a request, or on a project you can link change requests to the project.  If the majority of availability on both projects and requests are managed using activities, you should be able to look a the activity calendars of the staff that you manage.  If you use changes in projects then you may be able to get an idea of workloads by looking at request ownership. There isn't yet a view where activities and requests are viewed together for a particular user to see what their availability is.

There is some information here about viewing resources on a project.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the response @James Ainsworth

So, if there isn't an out of the box 'view' is there a way to build a report that could read from both applications? Or are reports bound to the context of a single application?

Getting an accurate view of our team capacity is one of the hardest requirements that we are trying to solve at the moment. Having Supportworks for Inc and Req, then Project teams using spreadsheets, and/or Azure DevOps for other things. It just impossible, even for a member of staff themselves to know exactly what work they have with them themselves managing another 'list' There needs to be one tool to rule them all :P
