query? Admin Tool 1202 - Edit BPM Live instance

In Admin Tool 1202, it mentions the the ability to edit live instances of a BPM has now been moved to general availability.

"Workflow - BPM - Editing Live Instances: Removed experimental flag. Feature is now generally available."

Is there any documentation on this at all? 

Is it possible to make a correction to a previous version of a BPM and it applies to all current active requests, or do you have to make the change to each request instance of the BPM?

Yes

Just to clarify. Editing a live instance or, in other words, editing a running workflow applies to that particular workflow associated with an (one) object/entity, most of the times this is a request. Editing a live instance or a running workflow does not apply to the overall workflow configuration, only to that particular instance of the workflow associated with that (one) request (as in object/entity)
