Jeremy
Would it be possible to include calendars into the PCF so that people can see a calendar? Ideally I suppose I think that what I'm asking for is to have integrations within PCF so that we can dynamically push information into the forms and allow interactions.... James Ainsworth
Hi Jeremy Thanks for your post. Do you have any particular type of calendar in mind? There are a few calendar views within different apps in Hornbill. Are you wanting to display a particular calendar of events? Or are you just wanting to capture date and time on a Progressive Capture form? Regards, James
Jeremy
@James Ainsworth the initial query has come via a team that want to allow some of our users to book appointments in a calendar, so if we can display a hornbill calendar that we can populate via an API with certain Google/Office Calendars so that the users can see available time then that would be ideal. In a perfect world they could select the slot and 'book an appointment' but if we can display the calendar then it's a start as we can ask then to select the date and beginning time via a picker and then book this as part of the BPM.....hopefully
Jeremy
Further to this the integrations idea is when people request Office accounts etc we could (in the background) check their account to see if it exists and then either then request an account to be created or just a password reset dependant on the returned value. For us there is quite a bit of content that we could inject into PCFs we think...
Jeremy
@James Ainsworth has there been any further thought to this? My current thought is maybe to allow a field to be added which is an embed box so that you can embed external pages, calendars, live information etc.
James Ainsworth
Hi Jeremy, There are Cloud integrations for Google Calendars and Microsoft Calendars available. I believe that these can be run from both a BPM and from Custom Buttons. However, by the sound of your last comment, it looks like you want it the other way around. Something on a form within Hornbill?
Jeremy
@James Ainsworth yes we would like this in the form as at the point that a request is being logged via self service you do not know when there is free time in the calendar as there is no way of displaying this in the form. So although we can use these nodes to book the customer is taking a stab in the dark as to whether the time is actually free.
Jeremy
@James Ainsworth we have had another requirement that popped up, which is more of an 'intergration' node. We have a form for requesting office 365 accounts, we would like at the point of going to the form to be able to integrate Azure to find the license status whilst the customer is on the form to work out if they have an account or not, so that we can either offer an account or a password reset (depending on result of the lookup). We envisage there being a box with a loading spinning wheel whilst we return a sucess/failure code to guide the outcome.
