Lyonel
Hi, Following the departure of a colleague, we need to change the owner of a snippet... But I cannot figure out how. Any ideas? Thanks!
Guest Ehsan
Hi @Lyonel, Unfortunately there is no User Interface to provide this option. Snippets are held in h_itsm_snippet table, where h_ownerid column stores the Id of the owner - Could perhaps achieve this through a SQL update. We could introduce an option in the Snippets for an admin to see all Snippets in the system and make ownership changes as required. Ehsan
Martyn Houghton
@Ehsan We have the same issue as @Lyonel and need adjust the ownership of shared snippets, so would appreciate the option for an admin to do this through the UI. Lyonel
@Ehsan yes a UI option would be a good thing (like workspaces)

Steven Boardman
@Lyonel not quite the option to change owner but i believe a user with the Service Desk Admin role can both edit and delete All Snippets Other users would have a read only view of snippets they didn't create themselves, but SD Admin could edit, or delete those of any user which need amending or removing Maybe this will help in the short term with managing snippets? Lyonel
@Steven Boardman not sure about that... I can't edit or delete some snippets: Hence my post
Jeremy
@Steven Boardman We have this issue too, even though you can click into the snippets you cannot edit them and I have the role Service Desk Admin on my account and superuser etc.

Adrian Simpkins
+1 for me too, need some method of removing unwanted snippets from Users who have left Thanks !
Keith
We have a leaving user who has created and shared many snippets which we use in our daily workflows. It transpires that there is no way to reassign the ownership of these snippets and as a result we woudl not be able to manage them or share with new joiners etc. We need a way for someone to be able to take over the ownership of the snippet. Steven Boardman
@Alisha @Paul Alexander @Sean Teehan @Keith @HGrigsby @Aaron Summers @Martyn Houghton @Lyonel @Jeremy @m.vandun @Adrian Simpkins @samwoo The ability to change the owner of a snippet was made available in the Service Manager update yesterday As mentioned in the wiki details below, you will need the Service Desk Admin role, but you will then be able to both change the owner, and have an option to make yourself the owner of snippets owned by other users. https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php/Snippets 3
