Only displaying Custom data fields in email if value provided

Hi All

I was hoping that there is a method to hide custom data field values in an email template if no value provided, and only show this line if the Customer selects Not Listed. We have a number of requests with a Simple List for Customers selections, and most have a Not Listed value - it is these values I wanted to hide as below

-  Customer selects a value from the displayed simple list

-  Customer selects Not listed in the list, and inputs a value.

So ideally I only want to display one or the other dependent on what the Customer selects as at the moment our templates read as below, so every Customer gets both lines irrespective of their choice.

Customer Selection: h_custom_c

If not listed: h_custom_o
