Show Customer Information in Progressive Capture Customer Form

Recommended Posts

At Insights19 I saw a progressive capture form that included a greeting to the customer using their name.  This was a nice touch, but I'd like to push it a bit further.

I want to build a form that shows the following customer details  on the form when they log the request:

Telephone number

Mobile Number

Site

Manager

Organisations they belong to

Other fields like Custom Attributes?

Is any of this possible please?

Hi @Stuart Torres-Catmur

You have a number of these available to you now:

I have added the following available session variables into a label field type as below:

Name: {{user.fName}}
Surname: {{user.lName}}
Job Title: {{user.jobTitle}}
Mobile: {{user.mobile}}
Email: {{user.email}}

Just out of interest, are you seeing this for the end user themselves?  or for an agent raising on there behalf? if doing this an agent, you can in the customer search form choose to included site, manager, custom attributes for the customer already.

If looking to do this for the customer themselves on self service, could i enquire how you were looking to use this? curious (nosy) more than anything?

Thanks

Steve

@Steven Boardman

I'm building a form to for customers to use to update their details on our active directory.  We've already done the proof of concept for this and now need to tart up the form so its a better user experience.

The details I mention are provisioned into Hornbill via LDAP so I want to put the existing details shown in the customers Hornbill user account into the customer request form so they can check what is there currently and choose what they need to update.

Thanks for the session variables.  Are there any more please?  I need a full list of all available in respect of user accounts.

Kind regards

Stuart

@Steven Boardman

I just tried to set up one of the session variables in a label field in my custom form and it threw an error when I tried to save it.  Please see attached screenshots of  label set up and error.  What am I doing wrong please?  And is there guidance somewhere on the WIKI about this?

@Stuart Torres-Catmur try putting the values in the description multi-line field and leave the default value field blank

In terms of the existing variable fields, i believe this is the current list, but i will ask about adding the one's you have mentioned above
