Nick Brailsford
Hi, Why is there no model in the network device asset class? I am currenlty importing our network devices but its stopped as it cant populate this field. Nick
ArmandoDM
Hi @Nick Brailsford are you importing assets of class 'network device' via CSV file? Because this class of assets have not the property 'model', then the upload will fail because he tries to populate a property that's not defined for this class of assets. Nick Brailsford
Hi @ArmandoDM Yes i can see that what i was asking is why its not there. Can it be added? Regards Nick
ArmandoDM
Hi @Nick Brailsford yes it can be added. Actually we have a change in the pipeline for adding a new set of properties (one of them is 'Model') on this classes of assets. You have been added as a connection to this change. Nick Brailsford
Hi @ArmandoDM Thanks for the update will this change be applied to the other classes that dont have it? When do you think we will see this implemented? Regards Nick
ArmandoDM
Hi @Nick Brailsford the property 'Model' will be added only to the network devices. Unfortunately I have no visibility on when we'll start working on this change (hopefully soon), so I'm afraid I cannot answer to your question. James Ainsworth
Hi @Nick Brailsford I'm going to have a review of the change the adds these additional fields. No time frame yet but once it is scheduled with the development team I'll update this post. Regards, James
Nick Brailsford
HI, In that case until this has been released I am unable to migrate the rest of our assets into Hornbill as all of our devices have a model. Also when we migrated some across one has gone into the wrong asset class, how do we alter this please?
James Ainsworth
Hi @Nick Brailsford This change has been moved to the development team's queue. While I still can't provide an exact time frame, it is now lined up to be worked on. I'll let you know more as it progresses. Nick Brailsford
Hi, Is there any update on the progress of this please? I could do with getting a whole load of assets into service manager. Thanks
James Ainsworth
Hi Nick, This is currently being worked on by our development team. Once it is in the hands of our development teams we normally look at a 90 day period to have it completed. As this is now under development and provided there are no issues along the way it is likely that it will be available over the next four weeks. James Ainsworth
Hi Nick, I came across this post and saw that it wasn't concluded. I just wanted to make sure you were aware that an attribute called Model was added to the Network Device Class back in July. I hope you have been able to make use of this.
