Lauren Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 We're looking at editing some of our asset types but have found that the "Additional Properties" sections differ per asset types. As an example, for "Server" asset type you have "Computer Information", "Hardware Information", "Operating System Information" and "Network Information". For "Switch" asset type you only have "Network Information" within "Additional Properties". We ideally need the "Hardware Information" to be available for "Switch" asset type. How can I achieve this? Thanks Lauren
James Ainsworth Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Hi Lauren, I'm assuming that you are using the Networks Device asset class for your asset type. Can you provide a list of Hardware fields that you are looking to capture for a switch? Regards, James
Lauren Posted February 19, 2019 Author Posted February 19, 2019 Hi @James Ainsworth Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, we're using Network Device as the asset class. The fields we'd like are: Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number, Physical CPUs, Weight, Physical Cores, Power Supply Count and Watts. Thanks Lauren
James Ainsworth Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Thanks @Lauren We have a change to manage the adding of new fields to the different asset classes. I've added these to the change and I'll update this post once this has been scheduled.
DC-BEN Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 +1 interested in adding new fields to asset types/classes

The change that includes these fields is now in the developer queue. I'll post again as progress is made.

I am only assuming that there is a single development queue for all requested fields. Thanks, Samuel
James Ainsworth Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Hi @samwoo I did review the previous posts and there are a number of the mentioned fields that are already available. Most of the fields from these posts that are not already available will be included in this next change.
