Logan Graham
Hi All, Forgive me if it is a really obvious thing that I am just missing but I am trying to locate a way to delete a timeline update. It would be handy to do this as sometimes a update is wrongly put into a ticket or the update is just not needed. Thanks in advance, Logan
Jeremy
This is something that we would be interested in too, although maybe based on a role?
Guest Ehsan
Hi @Logan Graham, @Jeremy, You can't delete a Timeline entry as this is considered as a change in history. You can however edit your own post, using the Edit Post option. I can also edit my own comment, using the Edit option. If you're an administrator on your instance (i.e. Assigned the Super User Role or Admin Role), you'll be able to edit another person's post or comment. This will be audited for security purposes. I hope this helps. Ehsan
Guest Chaz
Worth mentioning that you can only edit posts and comments that have not been replied to and that have not been liked (although the Super User Role and Admin Role roles trump this restriction). Logan Graham
Hi @Ehsan Thanks for the reply however I don't actually seem to have the Edit option on posts? Even my own posts, got my colleagues to check this as well and they don't have it, do i need to enable something? Thanks, Logan
Guest Ehsan
Hi @Logan Graham, Sorry I should've mentioned! You'll need to enable the Post types that are permitted to be edited, via guest.servicemanager.request.timeline.availablePostTypes.editPost application setting. In the example below, I've only chosen "Update", meaning that only posts with that type can be edited.
Logan Graham
@EhsanPerfect, that works. Thanks, Logan
