Martyn Houghton Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 It would be really useful when setting the visibility on the Portal of a Service to be able to set it to Service and/or Customer Portal, rather than the option for on or off for both. This will aid testing and also ensure service which are focused specifically for one of the portals are not accidentally shown on the other. Cheers Martyn
lomixture Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 +1 There are certain things that would really benefit from this!
James Ainsworth Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Hi @Martyn Houghton Thanks for your post. Currently, the visibility for the two separate portals is controlled through subscription. The option to make a Service is visible or not visible applies to all subscribers, independent of where they login. We are looking at how we can provide a greater separation between services for external customers and services for internal users. When a Service is first created, if there was an option to set if the service is external or internal and then respectively, only allowing for either external customers or internal users to be subscribed, would this help?
Martyn Houghton Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 @James Ainsworth The option when creating the service to determine the intended audience is fine, but this would need to be able to be updated, as the idea is so it can be tested internally and we can set up the subscriptions ahead of going live to test. Then when the service is ready to go live to the customer, we can then make it live on the customer portal. This is particularity useful where you are bringing on new service desks and services to an existing instance. Cheers Martyn
