Progressive Capture- Name Search Function?

Hi All,

 

Are there any plans in the works to allow a Custom Form in a PC to bring up a list of the Users names?

 

We are bringing the Starter Recruitment Process to Service Manager and one of the questions we have to asks is the Users Line manager.

 

Is there any way to bring up a list of all users WITHOUT it changing the name of the user the call is logged to?

On top of this, is there a way to select one of the Office locations from within the Organisational database within SM?

Regarding a user selection field, this has been raised before quite a few times. I haven't got any posts to show for it currently but Hornbill are aware and I believe they have a story for it.

Yes, we do have a change in the backlog for this.  I'll chase this up and see where it currently sits.

Using the Progressive Capture custom forums you can provide a list of Sites if this is how your Office Locations are being stored.  This is done using the Dynamic drop down selections in conjunction with the Data Query.  Let us know if this is what you are looking for.

I will put together a test capture and see whether this allows me to do what I need it to do, from what Ive seen it should do the job nicely!

If you can update me on the name selection story whenever possible it would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried this for assets which returns a greater list of assets which is good for us, but is there a way of choosing more than 1 from the list (like a checkbox to link multiple things to the request)?

Hi @Jeremy

For that requirement we may look back to the provided out-of-the-box Asset Progressive Capture form.  We have plans to add options to this progressive capture node so you can select which assets are made available to the form and this would allow for multi-select.

Service Manager has already provided it to me through the sites selection, If I'd of kept on digging I might have found it,

We also have a change in our backlog for providing an option for the customer picker in the custom progressive capture forms.  This is not scheduled for development yet.

As of Service Manager build 1439 we released a new option for providing a customer picker on the custom progressive capture forms.  When building your custom Progressive Capture form and adding a field, you can select the Dynamic drop down select box which gives you the option to select Data Query as the Provider Type.  Once this is selected, a few different queries are listed.  The customer searches can be broken down to All Users, just Co-workers (Application Users) or just Basic users.
