Group picker for Assets in Progressive Capture

Hello,

Our applications are going to be loaded in as Assets. It would be really handy to have an Assets option in the Group Picker, so we can filter out the different asset types.

For example, we would like customers to pick the relevant application that they require access to in a Progressive Capture. Instead of picking from 'All Assets', which would also show assets such as hardware and third party, we would like just the applications to show. This would be much easier than creating a simple list, since we have so many applications.

Would this be possible to implement please?

Many thanks,
Alisha

Hi Alisha,

We have a change that is currently with the development team which will add an asset picker.  However, it was initially going to only be an All Assets option and the additional filters were going to follow at a later date.  I'll follow up with the development team to see what options we have with filtering on Type.

Regards,

James

+1 - definitely would find use being able to change the Type of Asset to choose in the future Asset Picker (as opposed to all assets). Being able to only list Laptops for example will further guarantee that the right options are being selected and mapped to the right fields.

We are soon to provide an Asset Picker that can be used on the Progressive Capture forms.  We have included options so that you can select between All, a particular Class, or an Asset Type.  The purpose of this will to provide the list of assets which one can be selected and stored in the questions section of a request or stored in a custom field.  This is planed to be available in the next Service Manager updated.

In order to progress this sooner, we have not included any automation with linking the asset to the request. This will be considered at a later point.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

James
