Guest Paul Alexander Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Morning On all of our mailboxes, there is an exclamation mark on the Sent Items folder. Any idea why this is please? Or where I can find more information? Emails ARE being sent and received successfully though thanks Paul
TrevorKillick Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 @Paul Alexander The Server will mark any email where one or more recipients failed to receive the email as unread, this indicator is shown with the red error against the Sent Items folder, it currently is also possible to manually mark an email is unread which will also add to this counter, if you check the unread items in the folder you can find out if there were any errors for any of the recipients with the colour of the envelope next to each recipient any with a red folder encountered an error. Kind Regards Trevor Killick
Guest Paul Alexander Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Hi @TrevorKillick thanks for that......is this a 'new' thing? I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it before! As it is it looks like it's nothing to worry about, so I'll leave it for now as there are hundreds of items which were used as test emails and which are showing as 'errors' and, to be honest, I can't be bothered going through and dealing with them! thanks
Victor Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 6 minutes ago, Paul Alexander said: is this a 'new' thing? I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it before! Correct. Before, if an email failed to be delivered, it woudl have been moved to Sent Items marked as unread. However this wasn't a clear indication that something was wrong with that email so we made this more visible...
SJEaton Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Hi We have an red exclamation mark come up on the sent items folder in one of our mailboxes and was just wondering what it means? Thanks Sam
Aaron Summers Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Hello, I opened up Hornbill mailbox and saw this, it was really odd and I can't seem to find the error or anything information to highlight it: It also applied to IMT Service Desk above too but only contained 3 compare to this mailbox. Can anyone elaborate this? Thanks, Aaron
davidrb84 Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 We've had the same error, looking in the logs it look like it's complaining of long API response times (~2000ms) I assume these are Hornbill APIs as it's not complaining of imap or SMTP issues that I can see.
Victor Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 @all FYI Several threads were created to discuss the new warning icon appearing in Sent Items. All threads have been merged into one.
Martyn Houghton Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Presume this is as an unintended consequence of the change introduced in Collaboration build 903. Cheers Martyn
Aaron Summers Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Thanks @Martyn Houghton However if they going to include that then they should add "unread" or "red flag" into filter list so that we can search for these emails in all folders not just inbox.
Daniel Dekel Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 @Aaron Summers, you can sort by status in any folder so you can see the ones you want at the top. 1 1
Guest Paul Alexander Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Is there an easy way to resend all of the 'failed' emails once we've sorted the problem out please? I'm sure this must have been asked already, but I can't find it! thanks
Gerry Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 @Paul Alexander I am afraid the only way at the moment is to resend each one that has a permanent failure. Any that where still retrying will send, but any showing up as a failure will be a permanent failure, those you will have to resend manually using the retry option Gerry
