Adding a project to a global board

@Lyonel @Darren Rose our automated testing has picked up an issue with the new Project Manager build that requires a new build of Board Manager before the next Project Manager update can be released. I will post here with more information in due course but it looks highly likely now that the latest Project Manager update will not happen this week.

@Darren Rose the update is due any day now. Still waiting on some integration work between Board and Project Manager to be completed. As soon as this is done a new update of Project Manager will be released which also contains a big new feature around categorisation (Project Tagging) :-)

@Darren Rose due to unforeseen circumstances the Project Manager update is now going to be held until next week. The use of tags in Project Manager requires a change from our core team which will not happen now until next week. Apologies for any inconvenience. Here is what tagging will look like in a project:

@TSheward_SGW yes that's working as designed. Currently project tasks can only be added to boards that are specific to that project.

Can I ask what your business case would be for including project tasks on a board outside of a project? (there is no reason why we can't expand the functionality here if it what our users want)

Hi @alextumber OK thanks for confirming.

Rationale is to do with managing analyst workloads. Being able to pull in tasks, requests, project tasks etc. into a single view helps the team keep track and give an overview of what they are working on. Similarly from a PM point of view, when managing multiple concurrent projects, being able to pull active tasks from multiple projects into a single board helps give quick oversight without the need to dive into each and every project.

Let me know if you need any more info/examples.

Thanks, Tom
