BPM Email Notifications - Subject Line

For email integration automation purposes,  as well as for normal communication, it would be really useful to be able to override the 'Subject Line' contents when sending an email from the BPM Email Notification nodes. For example when sending notifications to third party systems, we can construct a specific subject line using fixed text and variables which will then trigger automated operations in the target system using its auto repsond rules.

@Martyn Houghton Sorry for the late response. 

I understand you probably want more than what the template offers but could you use that as a starting point? If you create an Email Template specifically for Third Party systems, making the Subject Line contents have information directed at third party suppliers and use that template in the BPMs meant for third party systems, would that help you get the emails out to the intended recipients?

We are indeed doing this as a workaround, but this does not give you the flexibility and variables you can generate from the BPM insertion of variables and means you have to have a larger number of templates to maintain.

So if it could be looked at a as feature request in the future that would be great.

@Martyn Houghton mmm... how about having the template use a custom field value in the subject line.... you can have the value for the custom field created in the BP based on the various other variables you have there... to be more clear, have the BP create that subject line form various variables, put the result in a custom filed then have the template use that custom field only...

I know, not a definitive solution, still a workaround... just thought it might be an idea to avoid having a large number of templates...
