Asset Management - States Request

Hi All,

Within the Asset Management side of Hornbill, would it be possible for us to be able to change the Hard-coded State and Operational State to different Text strings?

Can you not do this with a translation?

The problem with translations that I've found is that they are (naturally) global. This means that if you have very different parts of the company using Service Manager to offer support it can be difficult to find a translation that is suitable for everyone - we only have two (IT and Facilities) and are already finding this.

To be fair the only translation I have set up is changing 'My Documents' to 'Help Documents' on the portal. 

The rest I make them make do with what they have.

Hi Josh,

Something else that you might be interested in is the use of Asset Sub-statuses.  There is documentation located here.

When viewing the list of Asset Types there is an option at the top to create substatuses.

These will coincide with the main Status.  You may find that you don't actually need the operational status displayed and hide this as part of the Asset Type configuration.  Here is where you enable the substate on an asset type.
