Martyn Houghton Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 We are looking to bring further Service Desks into our existing instance and therefore will need the ability to under bulk imports of the following entities * Organisations * Customers (Contacts) * Portal Account ID's and Passwords for subset of above Customers When we went live originally this was undertaken by Hornbill as part of the Switch On Service, but as we add more desks to the system, this will be a regular requirement. Are there any plans to provide this facility either in the Admin Tool or as a separate tool similar to the Request Loader? Cheers Martyn
TrevorKillick Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 @Martyn Houghton Its been planned for a while but its not something we have had time to implement. If this changes and progress starts being made on this front i will update this thread. Kind Regards Trevor Killick
Martyn Houghton Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 @TrevorKillick Thanks. I will have a look at whether I can automate some of this via Python and the API side. Cheers Martyn 1
Katef Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 +1 I have 400+ suppliers to add manually so this would have been a great feature. 1
Martyn Houghton Posted June 11, 2018 Author Posted June 11, 2018 @TrevorKillick Is there any update on the provision of a 'Organisation' import tool? Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 @TrevorKillick, @Steven Boardman Just wonder if there is any update on this, as I am once again at the point where I looking to import more contacts into Hornbill as part of a migration process. Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 @TrevorKillick, @Steven Boardman Sorry to be a pain, but is there any update on the ability to import organisations? We have managed to get a 'workable' situation with the Contact Importer, but you still have to crate the Organisation and Container records manually. Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 In addition to organisations, we also need the ability to bulk load "Service" Subscriptions as well, i.e. passing in the external organisation/container ID or User ID so that these can also be loaded without having to resort to manual data entry. Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 @TrevorKillick, Just wondering if there is any update on having the ability to import organisation by bulk? Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 @TrevorKillick, @James Ainsworth, @Steven Boardman Is there any new on providing a Bulk Organisation Import tool? This is becoming a significant hurdle when we are looking to migration new organisations and service desk on to our instance. In the absence of the facility can we request the bulk creation of organisation record via our Premier Success maintenance service? Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 @Steve G, @Victor You mentioned at Insight's that a Organisation Import tool had been produced internally, but not yet completed testing/QA. Is there any update on a timescale for this as we have two additional service desks I am working on bring on board in the next month so would rather not have to manually create all the organisations. Cheers Martyn
Victor Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 @Martyn Houghton the responsible person for the tool is me ... I’ll look into completing it this week. Sorry for not having it ready sooner there were other aspects mainly in support that required my attention
Martyn Houghton Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 @Victor Thanks for the update and timescale, therefore I can plan on using it rather than allowing the time in the project to re key the information. Cheers Martyn

Indeed. And is a good thing, this would put additional pressure on me so I can finally get my bearings together and finish the tool 2
Steven Cotterell Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 +1 from us - we will be crying out for this soon. (no pressure @Victor) 1
David Longley Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 +1 for us too. really need to be able to import contacts .. over you to @Victor
Martyn Houghton Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 @David Longley Please see my reply on your other post in relation to the existing contact importer. Cheers Martyn
HHH Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Any news on this @Victor? No pressure. None at all. ;)
Victor Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 @Martyn Houghton @HHH @mojahidm @Katef @Steven Cotterell @David Longley Just to confirm one thing first. I am talking about a tool to import organisations (this is the organisation for contacts, the external users of the system) not to import companies (this is the organisation structure configured in admin tool for users, the internal users of the system) The tool is ready is just went under review with Steve as he is the guru of all import tools, there are a few bits that need to be adjusted so I would say it is a matter of days now...
HHH Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 @Victor That's the tool I'm looking for. Thanks. 3 minutes ago, Victor said: @Martyn Houghton @HHH @mojahidm @Katef @Steven Cotterell @David Longley Just to confirm one thing first.
