Martyn Houghton
I am trying to ascertain what roles and application permissions are required in order to allow a non-system admin user access to the admin page and the ability to maintain a simple list held within Service Manager. We use a lot of Simple lists to hold version information against services, which are they picked up in the progressive capture process, as there is not inbuilt version handerling against service or catalog items. I want to to allow certain users to able to update the version lists, without them having full system administration access. Can you advise on what permissions are required? James Ainsworth
Hi Martyn, The rights for the Simple Lists are the system rights as follows. As these are system rights I don't believe that these will be part of a default Service Manager role. You may need to create a specific role that you can assign to the users. Let us know if this helps. Regards, James
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth That has done the trick. One thing to not that it also appears to give them visibility, though not the permission to update, other settings in the admin tool such as working time calendars, sub status etc. Cheers Martyn
James Ainsworth
Hi Martyn, Thanks for the feedback. I'll see what we can do. Regards, James
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth I have added the database table permissions as required on h_sys_lists (all permissions), so the users can now add and edit them, but gets an error below when attempting to delete entries. Any idea on what permission/setting I am missing? Cheers Martyn
James Ainsworth
Hi Martyn, Here is a screen shot of a role for managing simple lists with the appropriate rights that can be used. Let me know if adding the "Delete Lists" right to the user's role fixes this. Regards, James
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth What I was trying to achieve was the ability of the user to delete entries in the list, but not have the permission to 'Delete Lists', i.e. the lists entity itself. Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth As we expand the use of Service Manager over multiple desks and divisions, it would be good to be able to have the concept of 'owners' for list and be able to set permission to the individual list level.
