Documentation on the wiki for report scheduling and publishing reports to document manager, access on the mobile in PDF, CSV etc

https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php/Report_Scheduling

The Supporting video also covers the options to use variable date parameters in your report filters which will be used when running the report or from the point when the scheduled report is run.  For Example greater than Start of Today, This week, Last Month, Quarter etc.

@Steven Boardman is there a way of adding the newly created report to the collection/library rather than amend the existing one? I know you can go through the previous versions but it would be easier to append the date run to the file name and be able to see them all in one folder rather than have to click into the document and find the version you are looking for.

@Dan Munns

We dit not implement it that way because we felt on a mobile device it would be better to have "the report" so you were always looking at the latest one, but because of document versioning you can always look back to previous reports.  Its not impossible to make it work as you describe but it would soon become very noisy in the document list.

I have just been asked if it is possible by one of our platform managers. He basically wants to run his reports on a schedule (monthly) and then link ones to various libraries/collections for other people to see. They dont need to see the whole suite of reports or any version other than the ones he puts in their shared library.

It will be up to him to purge his libraries lol

@Dan Munns if they create a document for each of his reports and just shares the relevant documents with those who need to see the specific one's we won't need to create a library or libraries for this.  Then on a monthly basis when the scheduled reports run those who have had the document shared with them will get a notification that the document has been updated and they can review the current Months report as the latest version, but if needs be in the revision section refer back to and open up the previous months data for the report.

As with many things there maybe some initial effort involved in setting up the first iteration of the doc's (reports) but from then on they will be updated monthly on the schedule you define.

Let us know how this works in practise

Just a quick update here, to say that the in app reporting in Service Manager has been released in Experimental status.

You can enable this via the Service Manager > Advanced Settings and filter on EXP

Once enabled, you will need to assign a user the Service Manager in app reporting role, in order for them to be able to see the reports menu option.

There are only a handful of reports to start with, but you will see you can create your own reports based on these and have them scheduled to be published to Document Manager, where they can be shared with other users, and scheduled updates will appear add new versions to the single report doc.

* We will be adding more standard reports

* We will be adding the ability to use custom fields

* We will be adding sorting, grouping, filtering etc
