Pasting images when logging requests in Service Portal

Recommended Posts

It would be very helpful if images could be pasted into the description/summary-field while logging tickets from the service portal. It would be nice to have the same feature for agents as well, especially when accessing callers screens remotely. I guess this is not supported in any of the fields in progressive capture.

The images should stay inline with the text in the request timeline.

This would make the "forget about email, use the portal"-argument even more likely to succeed.

Hi Henrik,

Thanks for your post.  The ability to paste an image is currently only available within an activity stream or in the case of a request, in the Timeline.  In order for it to be in the details section of the request we may need to change the field type to facilitate this.  The method used to paste into the Timeline is being looked at to see if there is a way that we can implement it elsewhere.

I will let you know if there is any success with this.

Regards,

James

It would be great if the images could be added anywhere such as in email to the user or on the capture

would also be great if they appeared in the timeline rather than having to go to the email or the attachments

the would make it much easier to follow the flow of the call

Hi @Everton1878

Images are great and can be very powerful.  We are looking into a the possibility of having a new Email Action tab on the requests which would allow the embedding of images into your emails that you are sending from within a request.   We have to think carefully about where we add images and how each field is used.  Many of the fields, such as the description field are text fields that are done that way for things such as reporting and searching, so there is the potential that making a field available to embedded images may .
As we are currently doing with the Email Action in the requests, we will investigate where else it is possible to use the copy/paste function for images.

Regards,

James
