Martyn Houghton
At the moment you can specify multiple email address within a shared mailbox with one of them being the default. It would be really useful to be able to specify what email address to be used when sending an email from with the BPM, in addition to specifying the mailbox to be used. The reason for asking was that we have a number of services we are implementing as a portal only service, so do not want to deal with emails relating to the these services but do want to send an initial confirmation and final resolution email. Therefore I would like to be able to send the email from a noreply@.... address within our domain, without having to purchase another shared mailbox license to do it, given that the whole point is not to have a mailbox interaction with these services. Guest Chaz
Thanks for the suggestion, Martyn. Something we should definitely be able to do, we'll get it logged and look at prioritising it.
nasimg
Plus 1 for me - this is something we would like, a noreply@ mailbox.
James Ainsworth
@Martyn Houghton and @nasimg We have just finished a minor change which will allow you to set a from address when sending an email from the BPM. This will be available in an update to Service Manager over the next couple of weeks. This includes the following BPM Operations Entity/Requests/Email notification/Email Contact Entity/Requests/Email notification/Email Co-worker Entity/Requests/Email notification/Email Customer Entity/Requests/Email notification/Email Customer's Manager Entity/Requests/Email notification/Email External Address Entity/Requests/Email notification/Email Request Owner
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth Thanks, we will keep an eye out for that in the next release. Cheers Martyn
Martyn Houghton
Just a note to say you need to add the from address(es) you are going to use to the Shared Mailbox > Addresses tab in order for the BPM not to fail. Then it is just a matter of sorting out permissions to send as on your mail server, which is where I am at with our IT department. Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth Just to confirm this is now working, following sorting out permissions on our mail server. If you have issues with it not delivery check the EspMailService log in System> Monitor> Monitor Log Files. Cheers Martyn
James Ainsworth
Thanks for the update Martyn. Great to know that it is working. Regards, James
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth One thing from our testing is that you can only set the 'Display Name' for the mailbox and not the additional addresses. It would be good enhancements to be able to set the 'Display Name' against the additionial addresses so it is clearer when received and shown in the customer's email client.
