  1. Can I clarify the the System > Advanced Settings - 'security.guest.xxxxxx' setting are applicable to both the customer and service portals, but on the former if using Single Sign On for the service portal? Also with reference to 'security.guest.passwordPolicy.checkBlacklists' where is the black list maintained from, or is this a centralised platform list maintained by yourselves? Cheers Martyn
  2. I have setup a role to give out users permission to administer contacts and organisation, along with setting up Customer Portal Accounts. However though they are able to manually set a password, click on the 'Generate Random Password' button does not result in anything being generated. What additional application rights are are required for the ability for the password generator to work? Cheers Martyn
  3. We are using the password generator to create passwords, however, some systems don't allow specific characters such as & or $ etc is there a way that we can have an option to disallow certain characters from being used in the password generation?
  4. When loading bulk contacts you can specify the logon_id, but you cannot specify a contact's password or indicate if their guest portal account should be created and whether it should be Approved or Suspended. https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php/SQL_Contact_Import Can the tool be extended to include these facilities, so it will make migrating customers from previous systems more seamless. Cheers Martyn
  5. Hullo, we noticed that our upload of assets has not worked for some time. It turns out the interface requires an admin account and password. We think that someone has reset the admin account, but not updated the password on the Asset upload. Obviously we can reset the admin account password, and put that new password into the Asset upload. Does anyone know if there are any other places we'd need to update the new password inside the system? We don't want to fix the asset upload but break everything else. thanks Claire
  6. I am in the process of setting up 'Jira Cloud Authentication' in keysafe to see if we can use this option to connect to our on premises but externally accessible JIRA implementation. One thing I have noted is that when you enter the password it is set to be visible and remains visible when retrieving the record in KeySafe screen going forward. I would normally expect the password field to have the option to 'Show Password' when setting it and then it obscured otherwise. Cheers Martyn
  7. Afternoon, We are looking to change our password reset processes at the moment, as we don't have a way of identifying people over the phone. So we have to get them to come to us with their staff badge as a form of identification. We would like to use hornbill to save identification questions in peoples profiles so that only the Service desk can see them as a security measure. Then we can ask for characters from their security question to identify them over the phone. If their a field in hornbill anywhere where this can be done? Thanks Hayley.
  8. I trying to locate on the Wiki how you setup external customers aka 'Contacts' to have access to login to the Customer Portal and how you set their passwords up. The Wiki makes reference to guest accounts and templates, but I am wanting to pre-register user without them having to go through a sign up process. Any pointers on how this is done? Cheers Martyn
  9. Hello what is the most minimal permission I can give to allow a service desk user access to change user passwords Regards Gareth
